Hands and Haiku
For a year leading up to the pandemic of 2020, I formed a presence practice where I chose a tree, collected the unique treasures around it, and sat long enough to form an embodied ritual image of the experience. During this same time, I was exploring the form of haiku. The two means of expression come together here; in hindsight, I see how they piqued a personal revival of empathy for the raw eloquence of Nature. We must listen.
